InSight: Wooly Wonder - WHC Sheep to Shawl 2024

Show Details

InSight gets a lively sneak peek from Willamette Heritage Center's Stephanie Meeks of what to expect May 4th at the annual Sheep to Shawl festival, a classic family event that has been held since 1985. Our InSight Onsite adventure took us to there to learn from members of the Salem Fiberarts Guild how wool is spun into yarn and into beautiful shawls, blankets and clothing. There will be plenty of fun activities to keep the whole family entertained, including live animal visiting, children’s activities, living heritage demonstrators, live music, and more. Don't miss the Pacific Northwest Community Coral Reef Project exhibit, similar to a real coral reef and entirely hand-made, the product of three years of work by hundreds of contributors.
