With inflation and high food costs more people are heading to food pantries to feed their families. Rick Gaupo, CEO and President of Marion Polk Food Share says area food pantries are getting 18-thousand food visits a month, making it hard to keep pantry shelves filled. He talks about the many complex issues behind what he called a “hunger crisis”, what it means for families whose income forces hard food decisions, and what can be done to solve it and keep food banks able to meet need and sustain services.
