Phase One of the new Vietnam War Memorial on the Oregon State Capitol grounds was dedicated in November 2024. The memorial columns of the "broken wall" list the Oregonians, by community, who gave their lives in the conflict. Outside the memorial is the sculpture, "A Soldier's Return," revealing the invisible wounds of war, which were profound for Vietnam veterans who were not welcomed home.
