InSight OnSite: Digging Deeper - Oregon Mission Indian Manual Labor Training School Archeology Project

Show Details

Where is that boarding school on the Willamette University campus where Native American children from all over the Pacific Northwest were sent to train for manual labor? Archeology students and volunteers from Grand Ronde Tribe and Oregon Archeology Society are using traditional tools and high-tech ground penetrating radar and LIDAR to assist in finally locating the building. Why did that school only last two years? And why is finding it such an important cause for Oregon history?
