What is drag? And why is it considered at art form? InSight explores Salem Art Association's exhibit “The Art of Drag” at Bush Barn Art Center from July 5 through August 25, with a special event - Drag Art Soiree July 12. The two-month event offers the work of drag artists, including displays, interviews and performances. Exhibit curator Jessica Rehfield and lead consultant Richard Arias, Jr/aka RiRi Caliente, a drag artist, explain why drag, despite historic and current attempts to ban it, thrives, and SAA is supporting the exhibit.
