There are over 450 women living on the streets in
Marion County. All need a safe place to sleep at night. And hope.
SafeSleepUnited now has a remodeled low-barrier shelter offering 50
beds and a kitchen to welcome women with stays from overnight to 30
days or more. Program Manager Lynelle Wilcox explains why "the
homeless brain is really the trauma brain". Her moving stories
underscore why safety is the first step toward any healing. Visit the
SafeSleep UNITED Facebook page for more information.
