Willamette Institute for Continued Learning - Salem's Own TV Channel: Capital Community Media 3-19-26
Program Description
"Capital Community Media is a multimedia center in the greater Salem area that provides local content, education, and a platform for people who want to hear and be heard by their community. Alan will take us on the journey from CCTV to CC Media and update us on all their work and content.
My family and I moved to Salem in 1989 when the CCTV Board hired me to build the organization that would cover the work of local governments, schools, non-profit organizations and individuals. CCTV, now CC:Media became an information oasis in the media desert of Salem, the largest state capital with no broadcast TV station. The success of CC:Media was my passion for 31 years. I returned to the organization early this year to work with our team to solve the funding gap that has resulted from cable cord-cutting and waning cable revenue. Why? Because our community is important."
